1 min read
In one of their last software updates of the decade, this week Microsoft released their December 2019 Power BI updates. The Power BI feature summary details a variety of changes, primarily focusing on new visuals, new formatting in reports, and improved data connectivity.
• New visuals. Updated visualizations include a hierarchy tree, bullet chart, parallel coordinates, and Gantt chart. Third-party additions include the Drill Down Combo Bar PRO, Annotated Bar, and Tachometer 5 Ranges visuals, all of which are available via AppSource.
• Expanded report formatting. Now, formatting of the KPI visual is much more robust, including rich text formatting of many elements and transparency on the trend axis. There are also updates to formatting on the decomposition tree and customizations available on the ribbon.
• Better data connectivity. This update includes changes to connectors like the Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 and PostgreSQL. By January 2020, we’ll have additional updates to other connectors like Data Virtuality and Zucchetti HR Infinity.
